Baking with fresh milled flour can sometimes be like trying to hit a curve ball.  Here are some of our favorite recipes as you get started!  I hope these quickly become some of your favorites as well!

Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

When the first slight chill is in the air after a scorching hot summer, I can't help but get excited about all things fall! I am most definitely not one to drink any type of pumpkin drinks; however, I do love pumpkin treats, and these cinnamon rolls might just be at the top of that list! Definitely give these a try, and if you don't make your own pumpkin puree, I challenge you to start! The taste is so much better, AND it's actually pumpkin vs squash, which is what the canned "pumpkin" usually is! Enjoy!!

Fresh Milled Oatmeal Cream Pies

I don't think I'll ever forget the excitement I had as a kid when my mom brought home Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pies! Needless to say, my brothers and I LOVED these snacks and the box would be gone in no time, only to leave us wanting more!

Cheesy Breadsticks

Since we've started making most of our meals at home, we don't order pizza any more, and I can't say I'm sad about it!  When you transition over to homemade pizza, you'll likely never go back to PIzza Hut or wherever your favorite pizza restaurant used to be!  The one thing I hadn't had in a while was cheesy breadsticks, but now I will make these a regularly with our Friday pizza nights!  You can't go wrong with these, especially paired with a delicious homemade ranch dressing!  These are finger-licking good!!

Hamburger and Hotdog Buns

Cooking out is one of my favorite things about summer!  Get some country music going, the kids playing in the water, and a cold drink nearby the grill and you can't get a much better atmosphere, in my opinion!  Buns have been something I haven't enjoyed making because they took a decent amount of time to put together, and only made enough for one meal.  I knew how good homemade buns tasted, but to be honest, planning ahead of time for cooking out isn't always my strong suit.  So when I realized I could make 10-12 buns at a time AND be done with them from start to finish is less than an hour, I have never looked back on homemade buns!  This recipe is great for the planners and those of us who are trying to figure out what's for supper 2 hours ahead of time!  After making these fresh, I can almost guarantee you'll never buy buns again!

Homemade Wheat Bread

When I first started milling my own flour and making my own bread (all in the same day), I had no idea where to even begin to find a good recipe, especially using fresh milled flour. Well after making all of the bread we eat for over a year, I have tried MANY recipes out there! I've learned a lot along the way, and I finally have a recipe of my own that my family loves, and I hope you will too!A few things I love about this recipe is I can be done from start to finish in 1.5-2 hours, with only about 20 minutes of hands-on time! I also love the texture and crumb to this recipe. You will get a bread that comes out with a similar texture to sandwich bread you're used to buying in the store, yet you will have a MUCH healthier option!

Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls take me back to my Saturday morning childhood when my mom would be making us dozens and dozens of cinnamon rolls to last for the next week or two.  We loved it when this time came, and if we were lucky enough, every now and then she would let us taste one right out of the oven after she frosted them!  If I could bottle up the smell of those in the warm kitchen on a cold winter day, I'd do it in a heartbeat!
